Poverty is a nightmare for country who used to be involved in war and a daily food for many countries who declared as poor country. Specifically, based on research over 20,000 people in 23 countries identified by The World Bank's The Voice of the Poor as poor people. Poverty can be defined as being without things, having little money, not many material possessions and in need of essential goods. I bet anyone of us used to watch these people who live without clothes with their big stomach searching for food. I wonder what would happen if we live that way where food can be found once in a blue moon. So, we have to be grateful as country like Malaysia is free from such suffer like that.

Poverty caused by some factors. One factor is natural disasters or climate that damage the source of food. One good example is tsunami that occured in Disember 2004 in many countries such as our neighbour countries Acheh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and many more. This disaster not only take lives, homes, properties and land, it also destroyed source of food such as paddy field. So, it made people suffered by starving because the lack of clean and nutrious food. Another disaster is drought that occured in most African country such as Ethopia. This disaster made the land become unfertile and many domestic animal died because they couldn't stand the extreme climate. As a result, it's hard to find food.

Another reason why poverty happened is war that occured between two countries or two parties. In this case, the weaker one will suffer more. One good example is in Afghanistan. After the attack by United State of America (USA), people scare to go out from thier home because the heartless army will shot everyone just like an animal. So, it will make people suffer from starving because of the freedom had been taken by the army.

Over population and lack of birth control also a reason why this happen. When there's to many people in a country especially a small one, the food source become limited and it's more difficult to provide enough food for the people. It cause many people starve because of this phenomenon. As a result many homeless couldn't get a home because the land is limited. The lack of money also can result many crimes occured because people dare to do anything to live luxury in a competative land.

To sum up, all of us have to be thankful to live in a such a rich and peace country like Malaysia. If anyone of us still don't know how lucky we are, try to live only one day in any poor country let's say Kosovo which suffered because of the war. So, appreciate our peace and harmony. Protect it or otherwise our country will list as one of the poor country.
